I believe Amon is using a different chi-technique, which is much more powerful than his men, which lets him block the Chakras for temporary, but long time.
Yet, I also thought Aang might be Amon, you can see it on my previous posts.
Avatar circle and bla bla, yep, but I believe Nicky will bring an explanation, even if it's not Aang, it's probably someone that we will meet in further episodes.
