Well I've owned both dogs and cats. I love pretty much all animals, but I have to say that I prefer dogs.
1. I cannot stand cat litter boxes, I'll take walking my big ass dog over scooping shit outta kittie litter any day of the week.
2. While both cats and dogs are loveable, Dogs just seem alot more affectionate and in tune with what's going on with you. If your sad, hurt or scared, they're always right there with you.
3. Dogs are alot easier to train I trained my one year old dog (absolutely no prior house breaking or anything) in a couple months where it would be much more difficult to train a cat.
4. A well trained and well taken care of Dog will love you, respect you and obey you no matter.
5. A female cat in heat is the most annoying fucking thing in the world 0.0
6. Also most dogs are easier to bathe, even if they do stink up quick (which they kinda do :/)
7. Dogs are very protective over their family. My dog is sweet and kind to everyone, but if he catches you in that house while it's dark and he doesn't know you, you better start runnin.
But it also depends on how you live, where you live, how you treat your pet and what type of personality your animal has. I've owned two cats myself, one was a complete she bitch, the other was an old cat, who was sweet and I actualy really liked her.

With the cat, and a Dog, Both of them put together= Awesome.
ALright? The cat gets rid of insects. I hate them nomming on my skin/blood while i sleep.
The dog, Detects if there is anything wrong..
And they are both adorable.
BUT. I can't get either a dog or a cat, because 1. I MIGHT still have allergies to animal fur.(Although, With both, I've tested recently, and allergies kick in after 4 hours of playing with either.) 2. Its been with me since birth. 3. I can't till i live alone.
So.. Im shit out of luck.

If you wash your dog/cat - of course they smell! But naturally: I don't really give something to it since I love both cats/dogs. To end this straight, here's a new animal that you should give attention to it, because it's.. It's.. Un-noticed!
